The clinics at Bohusfest are like mini-courses where you will get the chance to elevate your climbing skills and knowledge across different disciplines. Here you get a chance to spend a day with experienced climbers, learn something new and of course have some fun and climb!
Meet some of our climbers that are offering these clinics during the festival and don't miss out on this special opportunity. More information can be found under the CLINICS tab.

#3 Preparation and training for onsight
and redpoint in tradclimbing with Neil Gresham
1. Footwear & Equipment
Make the right footwear choices for different styles of climbing. Rack editing - strip down your rack so you can travel lighter.
2. Tactics
Warming up at the crag - how to improvise and adapt your approach to different situations.
Tactics for onsighting - routes selection - different approaches for safe/strenuous routes & bolder routes. Tactics for 'headpointing' - how to work and send a hard trad project.
Advanced belaying methodology.
3. Mindset
Headgame for safe/strenuous routes - get happy with taking falls!
Headgame for bolder routes. Control your mind!
Note: everyone is welcome in the workshops and there is no pressure to perform 'on the day', whether on hard/safe routes or bold routes. You can come along just to watch and learn, then practice the skills another time.
#6 Introduction to Bouldering
with Hannes Puman
Hang out and climb with Hannes Puman on some of Bohusläns most beautiful boulders. Hannes has a lot of experience in many areas in climbing and will be able to give you a few tips and tricks. There is a risk of sore muscles and a guarantee of fun!
#2 Introduction to Bouldering
with Nikki Hammarström
My name is Nikki and I work at Petzl Nordic with technical questions and education. I have been working as a rock climbing instructor for the last 16 years as well as a rope access technician for some years. I am very passionate about educating, inspiring and supporting others to find the beauty with climbing in all contexts whether it's indoors, outdoors, high mountains or low boulders. My clinic will be about learning some basic skills to begin with multipitch climbing (climbing in sections to reach the top of a route).
We will learn:
- Anchor building in the middle of a route (called stance)
- Belaying from above
- Rope handling
- Safety regarding fall factor 2
- Efficiency swapping leads
- Multipitch rappelling (if time)
Previous experience requirements: You will need to know how to belay and climb on lead. The routes will be pre-placed so no need for traditional climbing knowledge is required. We will climb on very low height for practicing reasons.
