Expect a rich mix - from Sámi yoik and Nordic Folk to North African Gnawa and Afro/Latin DJ sets across two stages.
  • What’s the weather usually like? Should I prepare for rain or sun?
We’ve been lucky with good weather the past few years—mostly sunshine and dry days. But Swedish weather is unpredictable. Bring waterproof gear just in case.
  • Can I volunteer at Bohusfest?
We need help before, during and after the festival. As a thank you you get free entrance, free meals and a goodiebag from our sponsors. Without volunteers Bohusfest would not be possible, if you're interested in learning more about the different duties as a volunteers reach out to us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
  • Can I reach the crags by foot?
The crag Evja is just a short walk from the festival grounds and is the only one accessible on foot. All other crags require some kind of transportation.
  • Are there going to be any top ropes put up?
The festival itself doesn’t provide top ropes for general climbing—participants are expected to climb independently and take responsibility for their own gear and safety. However, if you join the Beginners Workshop on Saturday, the instructors will have top ropes set up specifically for that session. This is to ensure a safe, controlled environment where you can learn climbing techniques with guidance.
  • What if I don't have anyone to climb with?
Not everyone comes in groups—some arrive solo looking for climbing partners. To help with this, we’ve created an open WhatsApp group. Join, introduce yourself and your climbing level, and connect with others at the festival.
  • I've never climbed outdoors - where do I start?
Join our beginner workshop led by Nikki Hammarström and Kvibergs Climbing Club. Fixed top ropes will be set up, and Nikki and the Kviberg team will be there to belay and assist you throughout the session. Remember, indoor and outdoor climbing are very different. Even if you climb at a high level indoors, those grades don’t directly translate to outdoor climbing. This workshop is a great way to ease the transition from indoor to outdoor climbing with guidance from experienced outdoor climbers.
  • Can I buy climbing gear or merchandise at the festival?
Yes, some gear and merchandise will be available for sale from our sponsors at the festival. However, it’s best to bring your own equipment whenever possible. If you forget something, there are usually people around willing to lend gear.

A vegetarian dinner and dessert are served on Friday and Saturday for guests with the appropriate tickets. Meals are included in both the Weekend Pass and the Day Pass + Meal. Please note that cooked meals aren’t available for purchase on site, so be sure to choose a ticket that includes food if you'd like to dine with us.

Yes. We’ll have a café/bar open during the event, offering drinks, snacks, sweets, coffee, tea, and ready-to-eat meals at affordable prices. You can pay with Swish, PayPal, or cash (SEK or Euros). We're working on enabling card payments, but can't guarantee it yet. For groceries, the closest store is ICA Nära in Dingle, about 10 minutes away by car.
  • Where do we sleep?
Most people bring a tent or sleep in their van/camper. The festival doesn’t offer accommodation but provides parking and a designated area for tents. We provide clean drinking water and several toilets. There are no showers, but you can wash in the lake (Tosteröds Stora Vatten) just across the road from the festival area. Do not use soap or shampoo—it pollutes the water and harms the ecosystem.
  • Sauna? Sauna!
Yes, there will be a sauna! Bast Sauna is setting up a sauna tent right next to the lake by Evja Folkets Hus. It will be open and free to use from 18:00 to 23:00 on both Friday and Saturday—open to everyone.
  • Is parking free?
Parking is free but limited—ride-share as much as possible. A volunteer will guide you when you arrive. If no one is around, park as close to the next car as possible to save space. Passenger cars can park right next to the venue. Larger campers and vans need to be parked at a lot about a 5-minute walk from the festival area.
